Program Objective:
The mission of the facials specialty program is to prepare students for employment as a licensed Facials/Skin Care Specialist. Instruction is designed to qualify students for employment upon successfully obtaining a Facials Specialist license.
The content includes, but is not limited to: communication, leadership, human relations and employability skills, safe and efficient work practices, Florida cosmetology law and rules, acquisition of knowledge of the facial skin and the related chemistry, bacteriology, anatomy and physiology, and development of skill in performing the manipulative and electrical techniques required in the practice of facials specialist occupations.
This program focuses on broad, transferable skills and stresses understanding and demonstration of the following elements of the cosmetology industry: browarch, eyelash extension, waxing, microdermabrasion, art of makeup, planning, management, finance, technical and production skills, underlying technological principles, labor, community, health, safety, and environmental issues.
Instruction and learning activities are provided in a laboratory setting using hands-on experiences with chemicals, implements, and equipment appropriate to the program’s content and in accordance with safety and sanitation practices in the trade.

Upon successful completion of the hours of instruction which are designed to meet the learning objectives, completion of forty five (45) services, and achievement of a passing score of 75{eb3d79db5b5eb545679a81d64bc3cf519052cced5b8bd95bbdf597497309f944} or better on a comprehensive final examination administered by the teacher, the school shall issue a certificate of completion in the Facials Specialty program. Application for the State Board License is required. Additional information can be provided by student services. Students are expected to complete program competencies.

The average wage for this career in Florida is $19.98 hourly or $41,560 annually.
In-state residents – $2.56 per hour (Subject to change)
Out of state resident – $10.25 per hour (Subject to change)
$20.00 application fee per trimester
Material fee – $35.00
Identification fee – $5.00 per trimester
Liability insurance fee – $10.50
Students must purchase books/kits and/or uniforms, if applicable
